I'm a personal trainer (and full time Engineering Manager) who knows first hand what it's like to figure out how to make time for your health while juggling a demanding career and busy family.

I've worked for a global Mining & Construction Equipment company for over 25 years, holding a leadership position for over 15. Our 4 kiddos are (currently) ranging from 13-20 years old. And it took me a long time of doing things on my own, researching, and trial and error to figure out what works.

My clients know that I will remove the guess work, will provide an easy to follow routine that doesn't require research or expertise, will hold them accountable and will get them the results they are after.

I tailor my programs exclusively to female leaders, focusing on strength training and macro tracking as a way to get the results you want - - because I AM in your shoes and I got the RESULTS that you’re after.

Let me show you how!

I had just been through a tough divorce, was a single mom of 2 toddlers, and had just taken a promotion into a role that would end up being one of the most challenging I’ve had in my career. This is when I decided it was time to take control of my health and wellness, and I started my journey to get to where I am today.

Within a year, I had effectively lost all the weight I wanted to (and then some). But I did it through massive calorie restriction and tons of cardio. It was unsustainable, and by mid 2016, I was back to where I started. What to do?

After another year and a half of yo-yo dieting and exercise inconsistency, I decided I needed a different approach and I found strength training. <Cue angelic music and voices>

At the age of 48, I decided to have my first professional photo shoot done in the gym. I was back to my starting weight from 8 years ago, but I was in the absolute best shape of my entire life! Though it took about 18 months to really get where I wanted once I found strength training, it took me almost 4 years to decide that I wanted it documented!

I knew there were so many other women like me, struggling to stop the yo-yo, smart enough to learn any approach, but overwhelmed with life and information overload. I launched Susan Reeves Fitness so that I could officially be certified as a personal trainer and begin to reach others like me.

This is what it REALLY looked like...

it doesn't just happen overnight

"She is the old me."

"I will not be defeated by her. I will train harder. I will eat cleaner. I know her strengths. I’ve lost to her before, but not this time. This time she is going down. I have the advantage because I know her well."

PUT IN THE WORK AND GO HARD
I recognize your time is valuable – you understand that it's a limited commodity and because of this, you’ve not been able to make the progress you desire. My expectation and my philosophy is only that you use the time you have to the best of your ability to follow the program I’m laying out. You will absolutely have some days where your energy is low and you struggle – that is ok, and you need to listen to your body when it pushes back. But do the best that you can in the time that you have. IN GENERAL, if you can work hard, you will reap the rewards faster and more noticeably.

I WILL WORK AS HARD AS YOU DO
This is a reciprocal agreement. I want to see you succeed and I will do everything in my power to help make that happen. I will modify and adjust programs and I will put in extra time to fix an issue with any recommendations I’m making. I will put in the work too.

ASK WHEN YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND
You are smart. You got where you are in life because you are capable, intelligent, driven, ambitious, and you know how to ask the right questions. There are ZERO dumb questions. Remember, everyone – including me – starts somewhere and usually that is at the very basics. I had no knowledge of strength training when I started, but I knew I could learn and so can you.

DATA IS KING (or queen, however you want to look at it.) I need data and feedback in order to help you. Which means you must track your food and your macros, and you must follow the workouts given and provide feedback. This doesn’t mean you sacrifice safety in order to do that. Staying safe and performing the exercises in a safe manner is paramount. But if an exercise is awkward or doesn’t feel good and you don’t make note of it or let me know, I can’t make adjustments. Likewise, if you aren’t progressing like you should because you aren’t remembering to log all your food when requested, I can’t trouble shoot what to fix or adjust.

MY TRAINING PHILOSOPHY is centered upon strength training to build lean muscle mass in order to accelerate fat and weight loss. I can provide guidance on other types of exercise and workouts but these will be complimentary to this philosophy, not replacements.

MY PLAN is also centered upon understanding the basics of nutrition, eating well and balancing macros. I have a protein forward approach to my dietary guidance. The work you do when strength training can be accelerated by proper nutrition. Likewise, all your efforts in the gym or with the weights / bands can be for nothing if you don’t eat properly and provide details about your nutrition.
